security breach!
I wasn’t even planning to write this — but I need to get it off my chest.
Lately, something’s been happening that’s not just concerning — it’s been messing with my head.
Just tonight, I got several alerts about suspicious login attempts to my accounts. One of them actually got in — someone managed to access my Catawiki account. Thankfully, nothing seems to have been changed or stolen. But still, the fact that someone broke in? That’s seriously unsettling.
Then came another warning — this time from Google. Someone tried to access my account, but Google blocked the attempt. Still, knowing that someone is actively trying to get into my personal accounts feels like a violation of privacy.
What adds to all this is the fact that I was fired from my previous job without any proper offboarding. No checklist, no heads-up about account security — just a sudden cut. And now? I can't help but wonder if there's a connection.
Maybe it's unrelated. But honestly, I think it's highly unprofessional to part ways with someone without even a basic offboarding process. There’s a level of responsibility involved in making sure former employees aren’t left exposed — and I didn’t get that.
Since then, I’ve changed every single password and enabled two-factor authentication wherever I could. It took time and effort, but at least now I feel a bit more in control.
I’m not saying this to give advice — I’m just sharing what I had to do to feel a little safer again. I changed every password I could remember, turned on 2FA, and basically locked everything down. It was exhausting, but necessary.
I really hope nothing else happens — but I’m keeping an eye on everything, just in case. For now, I just want some peace of mind — and to feel like I’ve got my digital life back under control.
